Practice Management
Our Practice Manager here at Hornsby Heights Vet Hospital, Mary Salib, is a Registered Physiotherapist for both humans and animals! She is committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment for our clients and their patients. Mary has a special interest in geriatric patients. She is passionate about improving mobility, comfort, and quality of life for our senior animals. Her compassionate approach and depth of knowledge help ensure both pets and their owners receive exceptional support and care.
Nursing Staff
Annika is a friendly face that you will see around our reception area and running the surgical show! She brings a valuable blend of behavioural expertise and clinical skill. Through her background in running a successful puppy school, she has a thorough understanding of animal behaviour and early training. She plays a key role in a wide range of procedures. Her calm, compassionate approach helps reduce stress for both pets and their owners, ensuring every patient feels safe, supported, and well cared for throughout their visit. She owns a Kelpie named Arya, who is training in scent detection and tracking – and acing it. Annika is also teaching Arya talking buttons and “learning to talk”, so far Arya loves to request playtime outside.
Meg is another great nurse working in our team doing both procedures and reception work. Meg is a devoted rabbit person – with 2 bunnies of her own, you can always count on her for tried and tested bun advice! Meg has an Bachelors degree in Advanced Science (Pre-Medicine), and has a keen interest in microbiology and pathology. She is our go-to girl for all things histology, haematology, and laboratory procedures! With strong knowledge in laboratory diagnostics, she plays an important role in patient testing and treatment, all while providing friendly, attentive care to pets.
Another integral part of our team, the amazing Nat B takes fantastic care of your furry friends during mid-week procedures. With several years of hands-on experience in veterinary care, Nat B plays a vital role in supporting surgical procedures and patient wellbeing. She has a strong focus on surgical nursing, assisting with everything from routine operations to more complex cases. She ensures each animal that walks through our doors receives the highest standard of care.
Last but not least, our friendly nurse Nat H works across both reception and surgical care, helping ensure each visit runs smoothly from start to finish. She brings genuine empathy and understanding to every patient, providing attentive, compassionate care at every stage. She assists with a range of procedures and is a strong ambassador for patient comfort and making our environment as fear-free as possible. With 5 cats and 1 dog of her own, she has significant experience handling the pandemonium that comes with a large furry family and has all the advice you could need!
Our amazing junior nurses, Thea and Ella, man the front desk and phones whilst they study their Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing. They are essential to organising the controlled chaos that comes with day-to-day life in the clinic, and gain first-hand experience that helps them grow into the fantastic nurses we know they will be.
We also want to dedicate a massive thanks to our current students here at Hornsby Heights. We appreciate all the hard work they do behind the scenes and are thrilled we can support them on their way to becoming veterinary nurses.
